I’m using wordpress 3.6. I installed this plugin and it worked. But i cant find any settings to custom excerpt. The “read more” is right after the last word, without no space. And excerpt is too short. I need help to fix these prob.

Seem that i can not find any settings button. As you can see in below image. Akismet plugin has its own settings button, but “Easy custom Auto Excerpt” doesnt have ones. Maybe Easy Excerpt does not compatible with WordPress 3.6. Or another reason which i dont know.
Hope that i can fix this prob asap 🙂

the settings button is under the Settings tab, not the direct plugin. Navigate to Settings –> Excerpt Settings

Hi I am using your plugin and I use a small 150 wide pic in the post at the beginning and it shows up nicely in the post excerpt to the left however when I use a pic in my signature at the bottom of the post the excerpt wants to grab the second picture which doesn’t look so good having a pic of myself next to each excerpt. The pic I use at the beginning of the post usually portrays something relevant to the post. Do you have a fix for this so I can routinely get the first pic in the post to show up in the excerpt. Otherwise very nice plugin. http://www.auntm.com

Hi Aunty,
At the moment it is not posible to extract the picture on the bottom. The plugin will only get the image on top of the post (or on the word boundary). If you really do accomplish what you want to do ( picture – excerpt – signature ) what you can do is to do a create manual excerpt and put it on the excerpt area bellow the text area. This excerpt area can be activated using excerpt option on the screen option ( top of the page when you edit post) hope this help 🙂

Hi, I installed this plugin, works great on my home page but doesn’t have effect on the categoryarchive page excerpts, except maybe override the thumbnail picture size which is now way too big… Any suggestion to make this work?

I liked the plug in except that it continues to show “read more” when the link is not needed. This happens even though the full text of the post is shown (post text length was less than the set limit.)

just put “-” in your readmore text, it will remove the readmore (from the options page)

BTW, the calculation of post lenght is including the HTML tag (
, etc) you may set the limit a little bit more of you write.

The read more link is back in the latest update but only cycles back round to the same page with the excerpt. It does not goto the full post???

I just installed this, and it works great except that the image is insanely huge on the excerpt. I chose the option to use the featured image, and it is so big. Is there anyway to change this?

Newest version displays code on home/search/archive excerpt instead of video player. I am using Hana FLV Player Plugin version 3.1.3. The previous version of Easy Custom Auto Excerpt worked fine with the Hana FLV HTML5 Video embedded player. Is tehre a way I can fix this myself?

Some theme don’t work with our plugin , some other does. In that case you have to change the code of your theme
